Join Sports Basement for a very special 5K race to raise funds for one of our oldest and dearest partners. All proceeds benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco (BGCSF). BGCSF is committed to inspiring and enabling all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. Sports Basement shares this commitment to youth and our communities. We hope you will join us for this inaugural event.Whether you're looking to do your personal best, looking for an excuse to dress up or just want a fun day with the kids in the park, there is something for everyone. Witches' BrewsOkay, the brews aren't exactly from a witch, but we do think they're pretty magical. Race participants get free beer during the entire after party but those who skipped the run can grab some with a $5 donation to Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco!Games Galore!Wait there is more. We got huge, inflatable games coming from party expert Astro Jump, including life size 'Human Foosball' and 'Wipeout Ball Challenge' Get your game faces on!

The course begins and ends across from Sports Basement's flagship store at Crissy Field, offering breathtaking views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and the famous San Francisco Bay.

The Kids 1 Mile race starts at 0900.The 5k starts at 0930.Course time limits:Kids 1 Mile- 30 minutes 5K- 1 hr 30 minutes

BART:Take BART to Embarcadero & hop on the (free!) PresidiGo Downtown Shuttle to the Presidio Transit Center.MUNI:From downtown, hop on the 43 to ride right into the Presidio Transit Center.PresidiGo Shuttle:Hop on this free shuttle to get to the Presidio Transit Center! Catch it at the Transbay Terminal or at Embarcadero Bart station on Drumm Street (in front of the Hyatt Regency). Walk over Halleck Street onto Old Mason Street and you'll see us!

FAQ:What are the race fees going towards?All proceeds from this event will be going to the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco.How can I confirm my registration?To confirm your registration, please visit our Registration Look-Up. Please allow 24 hours after registering for your confirmation to appear in the results.Can I cancel or transfer my registration?Please contact sboutdoors@sportsbasement.com for all changes. Requests made within one week of the event are not allowed.When/Where is the Packet Pick Up (PPU)?Sports Basement will be hosting Packet Pickups in all Bay Area regions leading up to race day. Stay tuned for timing and specific store locations.Where do I pick up my bib?Bibs must be picked up at the mandatory Packet Pick Ups. Runners are required to bring a photo ID to pick up their bibs. In the event that a runner is unable to pick up their own bib, another person will be able to pick it up with a copy of the runners ID.Will registrations be available on race day?All runners will need to register and attend their local Packet Pickup prior to race day.Can I walk the course?Yes! As long as you finish within the allotted time frame of 1 hour for both the Kid’s Challenge and the Age Group 5k.What are the course time limits?Kids 1 Mile Challenge: 30 minutes, 5K – 1.5 hourWhat the event start times?Kids 1 Mile Start – 9:00AM5K Start – 9:30AMWhat can I bring with me on the course?All costume types are greatly encouraged. Headphones, and running vests or hand held water bottles are allowed on course. Runners with strollers, dogs or oversized costumes will be required to start in last wave for safety purposes.How many Water Stops are available throughout the course?As this is a short course, there will be just 1 that will be passed by runners twice. The water stop will have a variety of performance electrolyte and carbohydrate drinks and snacks. Specific brands to be announced soon.Will there be aid stations along the course?There will be one, roughly half way through the 5k.Where will restrooms be located?Portable toilets will be located in the north/west end of the Sports Basement Presidio parking lot.What awards will be given out?5K: Top 3 overall winners for M & F, and Top Kid from each year between 8 and 14.
