Overview
Tucked away in the rugged terrain southwest of Bandera is Hill Country State Natural Area, an undeveloped and secluded retreat. This forms the background for the Cactus Rose Endurance Runs.This is a rugged trail running race that was designed to test runners. No whiners, wimps, or wusses. The course can go by quickly because of it's picturesque views; technical climbs and descents; and fun terrain. But be careful looking at the scenery too long, you might end up face first in a cactus!The event features 100 mile and 50 mile distances.

What's included
The course takes place in the Hill Country State Natural Area.
The course is natural and very scenic. Cacti line the course.
To camp at the Start/Finish Area: Pay at Packet Pickup $10 when you arrive (No reservation is necessary).
Every finisher gets a commemorative medal to honour their achievement. These are usually unique, hand-made, meaningful awards. Some are made of metal. Some wood. Some are painted by children from a children's home. Some are bottle openers. They're all fun and you need one. Belt buckles are given to 100km and 100 mile finishers, with special buckles for sub-24 hour 100 milers. Top 3 male and Top 3 female awards.
All races will be chip timed. Chips will be picked up at packet pickup and must be worn on your ankle during the race. Ankle straps will be available for all runners. Wear your chip correctly to ensure the system can read it.
