Overview
The Upper Ottawa River Race and Paddle Festival is a three day event celebrating active outdoor lifestyles and the Ottawa River. The festival kicks off on Friday August 9th with kayak and SUP clinics, race registration and live entertainment on the beach by the bonfire. The events continue on Saturday August 10th with the Kayak Fishing Derby and a day of races on the river at Deep River Yacht Club (44km), Petawawa Point Beach (13km) in Petawawa and Riverside Park (4km & kids) in Pembroke. The festival wraps up on Sunday August 11th with Raise Your Paddle as well as the third annual Heritage Paddle.

44km Registration Fee - $72 (All fees and taxes included) 13km Registration Fee - $61 (All fees and taxes included) 4km Registration Fee - $50 (All fees and taxes included) Kid's Race Registration Fee - FREE Features kayak, canoe, stand up paddling (SUP) and outrigger races on the Ottawa River from Deep River Yacht Club to Riverside Beach Pembroke (44km), Petawawa Point to Riverside Beach Pembroke (13km), as well as 4 km loop races at Riverside Beach Pembroke. After the races there will be demonstrations and water activities, including stand up paddling and stand up yoga, kids SUP races, a vendors field, kids activities, paddling clinics, a physiotherapy tent, and great local food and music. Included in your registration you will receive a race shirt (guaranteed with registration by July 1st), lunch and dinner, free shuttle for 44km and 13km racers to pick up your vehicle, prizes and trophies (for 1st place in a variety of categories), live music and lots of activities and fun! What's included
This human-power fishing derby will have a “Catch-Measure-Photo-Release” format. The Derby is multi-species with prizes for longest smallie, largemouth, pike, walleye and catfish. The Ottawa River is a multi-species mecca with over 85 species of fresh water fish to be found along its length. Most recognized freshwater sport fish can be found in the mighty Ottawa. The Pembroke and Petawawa areas of the river are abundant with smallmouth and largemouth bass, walleye, pike and musky. Other commonly caught fish include channel cats, sturgeon (closed season all year), perch and gar. Fishing kayak rentals are available although limited in number.
