Course details
One of the most scenic marathon and half marathons in the country this event winds through the Columbia River Gorge at the peak of the fall colors. Utilizing the old historic highway this is a classic fall event. With its spectacular view of Mount Hood off in the distance, the area in which the race takes place is one of the Pacific Northwest’s most beautifully scenic natural areas, with several wineries and fruit orchards filled with peaches, apples and pears, as well as numerous tributaries and mountain creeks and waterfalls off the main river. It has also become of the nation’s most popular spots for windsurfing, especially in the city of Hood River, where the race starts and finishes.
What's included
This course is designed to include some of the most spectacular scenery that you’ll ever have an opportunity to see! Part of this route was built nearly 100 years ago as the first highway to navigate the Columbia River Gorge, and it is as impressive today as it was back then.
