Coogee Courage Multisport Festival will become one of Sydneys iconic fitness events., What an opportunity to run, swim, walk and get amongst Coogee with your friends, your family and even your neighbours. Whether its to challenge yourself, to have some fun, or to raise funds for the Royal Hospital For Women Foundation, the Coogee Courage Multisport Festival has something for everyone. The Coogee Courage Multisport Festival comprises the Coogee Climb For The Royal and the Coogee Island Challenge.The Coogee Climb For The Royal is an uphill run starting at Trenerry Reserve, and will see participants ascend Coogees steepest hill. The hill is some 450 Metres in length and in some sections the gradient is 13%. Attendees will be treated to a start line festival, located at Trenerry Park with food trucks, live entertainment, big screens showing action on the hill and the finish line, merchandise, exhibitors, VIP hospitality and more. The Coogee Island Challenge attracts more than 1,000 swimmers taking part in the annual 800m Junior Dash, the 1km Open Water Swim or the main event, the 2.4km Open Water Swim around Wedding Cake Island.

The Coogee Climb For the Royal: An uphill run starting at Trenerry Reserve, which will see participants ascending Coogee's steepest hill. The course sees participants run or walk up Neptune Street, before turning left on Dundas Street, right at Rainbow Street to the finish line at the corner of Rainbow and Denning Streets near Blenheim Park. The hill is some 450 metres in length and in some sections the gradient is 13%. The final pitch up Rainbow Street to the finish line is the steepest section, which sees participants gain 32 metres of elevation from the top to the bottom of the course and a maximum elevation of 68 metres.The Coogee Island Challenge: 800m Junior Dash, 1km Open Water Swim, or 2.4km Open Water Swim around Wedding Cake Island.Cut off times: Each competitor is responsible for his or her own physical condition and enters the event at his or her own personal risk. Any competitor who is still out on the Island Challenge course after 90 minutes will be asked to default and assisted to return to the start/finish via IRB.

All participants should arrive at least 45mins prior to scheduled races and check in and/or register at the Registration Marquee from 8:00am located at the bottom of Neptune Street. Coogee Climb for the Royal:Who can enter? Anyone! There is a race category for everyone.How do I register? Online registrations are now open. Register as soon as possible to take advantage of the early bird discount rates. Online registrations will close on 12th April at 9.00am. Please note, if you are unable to register before this time, you can register at the event on Race Day – Saturday 13th April. You will need to register at least 45 mins prior to your race time with Registrations opening from 8am in the Registration Marquee located at the bottom of Neptune Street.If you are registering online, you will receive an email confirmation of your entry into the Coogee Climb. If you experience technical difficulties whilst trying to make an online booking please contact the race organisers on 02 4423 7775.What is the best type of training for this event? The only way to become proficient at ascending hills is to run on hills! There are many online resources to guide you.Coogee Island Challenge:Is there a minimum age for competing? 10 (800m Junior Dash), 13 (2.4km and 1km). Parents/guardians of swimmers aged under 18 must complete the online entry form, not the swimmers themselves. They must include their consent to the entry with full name and phone contact. Just a phone number, a first name, or a number and first name will not do. Entries of U18 swimmers are not complete without this complete parental/guardian consent. Entries of U18 entrants must use the parent's email address, not that of the U18 entrant.
