Overview
This is your chance to take over the spectacular Draycote Water site dressed as a real running Santa! Yule be sorry if you miss it!Like no regular run, this seasonal celebration sees hundreds of runners get together, dress up in identical Santa Suits (complete with beard, hat and belt!) and complete a chip-timed 10K. Ideal for runners of all abilities whether you need to walk, jog or run for deer-life.
Course details
Results and PrizesResults will be uploaded live to our website and, where possible/practical, timing print-outs will be available at the race. In all cases, results will be communicated to all pre-registered participants within 24 hours of the event.All finishers will receive a medal and a goody bag on completing the race.Prizes will be awarded to the top three runners overall and the top runner in each of the veteran categories (V40/V50/V60/V70) for both males and females. Where possible, we will endeavour to present individual race prizes as soon as validated on the day.FacilitiesBag Drop: Whilst we recommend bringing as little as possible, you can leave your belongings with us while you race using the tear-off baggage strip on your race number, collecting after you finish by presenting your race number.Race Numbers: For collection at registration on the day only, numbers will not be posted. To be fastened to the front of your top using safety pins provided at registration, your number should be visible at all times. Your timing chip is attached to the back of your number and should not be removed.Toilets: There are free toilets in The Last Drop for use throughout the event.Changing/Showers: Whilst there are no dedicated changing rooms or showers, you will be able to use the nearby London Aquatics Centre shower facilities for a small fee of £2 when showing your race number on entry.Refreshments: Refreshments will be available in The Last Drop throughout the event.Water Stations There will be water stations on the route at the finish, passed on each lap, at which water will be provided in recyclable plastic cups.
What's included
10k RouteThe course begins on the upper pathway and heading north for approximately 1km before turning back onto the lower perimeter road. It then continues back to the race village for approximately 1.5km followed by one complete clockwise lap of the reservoir. The race, predominantly on tarmac pathway but including loose gravel in places, is suitable for runners of all abilities.5 MileThe course starts next to the race village and is one complete clockwise lap of the reservoir (approximately 5 Miles). The race, predominantly on tarmac pathway but including loose gravel in places, is suitable for runners of all abilities. Please always be vigilant of other runners, spectators, dogs, cyclists and other users of public footpaths and rights of way.Race Marshals Marshals will be present on the course throughout the race.Distance Markers The route will be clearly indicated with arrows, tape and Km markers where necessary.

For safety reasons, it is suggested that you run without music so you can stay alert and aware of your surroundings and other runners. This way you can also soak up the energy and atmosphere and unplug!For racing we recommend you wear your normal running kit and trainers and don't forget to keep an eye on the weather in case you require any waterproofs.
Spectators are best placed around the finish area where they will see runners pass at the end of each of the the part/full laps.

In accordance with UK Athletics guidelines, we require event participants to meet the following minimum age requirements on the date of the event. • Marathon, 24 Miles, 20 Miles, 16 Miles - 18 years of age • Half Marathon, 10 Miles - 17 years of age • 10K, 5 Miles, 7K - 15 years of age • 5K - 11 years of agePacersPacers will not be offered at this race.Can I bring a Buggy/Pushchair? This race is not suitable for runners with buggies/pushchairs.Is this race suitable for wheelchair users? This race is suitable for wheelchair users. You may be asked to start at the front of the field 5-10 minutes before the scheduled start time and be vigilant of other runners overtaking during the race.Can I run with Earphones/Headphones? Noise-cancelling earphones/headphones are prohibited and whilst we discourage the use of other earphones/headphones at the event, participants choosing to use them should ensure they are set to a minimum volume such that instructions from marshals or other race officials can be clearly understood. The race organisers reserve the right to disqualify participants who cannot hear instructions as a result of their use.Does this event have a time-limit? Whilst there is no strict time-limit for this race, in order that we adhere to the restrictions imposed by the venue hire agreement, it may be necessary for us to begin deconstruction of the registration/finish area(s) after approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to facilitate the removal of all equipment from the premises by the agreed time.Does it cost more to enter on the day?Subject to a £2 surcharge (cash only, subject to availability).
