Front Runners New York LGBT Pride Run
29 June 2019
This year marks the 38th running of this alliance between New York Road Runners and Front Runners New York, a competitive and social club for LGBT runners, multi-sport athletes and their allies. In 2019, NYC Pride welcomes WorldPride as we mark the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising and a half-century of LGBTQIA+ liberation. To celebrate the community, weve raised the race cap so that more than 11,000 runners have the chance to be a part of this milestone celebration and an official event of NYC Pride Weekend. Each year, Front Runners New York selects an LGBT-related nonprofit organization to receive a donation. We are proud to announce that this year's beneficiary is The Center (The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center). Located in the West Village, The Center empowers people to lead healthy, successful lives, celebrates diversity and advocates for justice and opportunity. The Center fosters a welcoming environment where everyone is celebrated for who they are. They offer the LGBTQ communities of NYC advocacy, health and wellness programs; arts, entertainment, and cultural events; recovery, parenthood and family support services.
