Jamestown Rhode Races

The Jamestown Rhode Race will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019. The half marathon, presented by Tufts Health Plan, is set on picturesque Conanicut Island and looks out over Narragansett Bay and the Newport Pell Bridge, the largest suspension bridge in New England. The course features vivid landscapes, winding roads, historic Watson Farm as well as the village of Jamestown with its small shops and quaint restaurants.
Registration fee will include entry into the Tufts Health Plan Half Marathon, event T-shirt, finishers medal, Bib, Timing Chip, finish line food and beverage, free GPS phone athlete tracking, parking and free photos.
The course circumvents nearly all of picturesque Conanicut Island, providing sweeping views of Narragansett Bay and the Newport Pell Bridge – the largest suspension bridge in New England. The course features vivid landscapes, winding roads, historic Watson Farm as well as the village of Jamestown with its small shops and quaint restaurants. The race starts in Fort Getty, winds past Mackeral Cove, heads straight across the island before the decline into Jamestown Village, then following the east side of the island. It cuts through a beautiful neighborhood before coming up the west side of the island where you will enjoy views of windmills, estuaries and farms before finishing back at Fort Getty. There is one small section of unpaved road before mile 2 and a long incline around miles 9 and 10. Course limit is 3.5 hrs.

Parking will be at Fort Getty. Please note that there may be some delay in getting in and out of Fort Getty due to car and pedestrian traffic as well as getting onto the island. The race will start on time so please plan on arriving early enough to park and get to the race start. We recommend on arriving at least one hour before the race start.
Can I pick up a friends registration packet?Every runner needs to show a license when picking up their race packet. When picking up a packet for a friend you need a signed note from the runner and a photocopy of their license.What is included in the registration fee?The registration fee will include entry into the Tufts Health Plan Half Marathon, event T-shirt, finishers medal, Bib, Timing Chip, finish line food and beverage, free GPS phone athlete tracking, parking and free photos.Will there be medals?Yes. Medals will be awarded to all finishers.Are there Age Group Awards?Yes, we will have an awards ceremony once most of our age group categories have filled in.What do I do with my belongings at the start?There will be a gear bag check at the start of the race. All gear must be placed in labeled bags and any unattended bags will be discarded. Please do not leave anything valuable in our gear check, as Rhode Races & Events is not responsible for lost or damaged items. Clothing discarded at the start of the race will be donated.Will there be medical stops on the course?There will be finish line medical and on course support.Can I push a stroller?No. USATF insurance does not cover strollers on the course, so they are not permitted.Are there restrooms along the course?Yes. There will be port-a-johns located at various locations around the course, at approximately 2 mi intervals.
