Kuching Marathon

Be a part of the annual Kuching Marathon (KM), an international affair that takes runners through an illuminating run through Kuching city’s rich cultural and colonial history expressed in its unique architectural buildings and landmarks couched in natural surroundings. Kuching Marathon is a road race competition which consists of full marathon of 42KM (measured to international standard of 42.195KM), half marathon of 21KM, run of 10KM and 5KM respectively. As the 6th edition of Kuching Marathon which was inaugurated on 17 August 2014, KM is now an international road race recognized by Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) as listed in AIMS Race Calendar at http://aims-worldrunning.org

MarathonSoak in the charm of Sarawak’s colonial past and its vibrant future with this loop course which begins from Padang Merdeka, the heart of Kuching city.This route takes runners from the city centre over the Sarawak River dividing the city into its northern and southern administrative centres.The rest of your run will take you on a journey through Kuching’s rich history, from its White Rajah heritage through its quaint Malay villages and cutting-edge business district at the Kuching Isthmus.Half MarathonStarting at what used to be called Padang Central, Padang Merdeka is the perfect starting point for this loop course which has been witness to major historical events and ceremonies.This half-marathon route will give you a glimpse of local daily life as you pass Kuching’s quaint cultural aspects which include the Old State Mosque and Kuching’s oldest Malay kampongs.
Full Marathon – 18 years and above. Half Marathon – 16 years and above. 10KM Run – 15 years and above. 5KM Run – 7 years and above. All participants aged 12 years old and below must be accompanied by parents and guardian who is participant of 21 years old of age and older. Veteran (applicable to Full and Half Marathon only) – 45 years and above.
Full Marathon – 7.0 hours. Half Marathon – 3.5 hours. 10KM Run – 2.0 hours. 5KM Run – 1.5 hours.
