LOST 118-Mile Endurance Run

The Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail, which also goes by the acronym LOST, is a designated segment of the Florida National Scenic Trail. LOST circles the lake of its namesake, the second largest freshwater lake in the contiguous United States. The trail sits atop the Herbert Hoover Dike surrounding the lake and built for flood protection. For this reason, the trail offers a grand vantage point to view everything from the scenic lake to agricultural landscapes. The Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail also offers a glimpse into agriculture communities of Clewiston, Belle Glade and others, which have relied so heavily on Lake Okeechobee for their livelihoods. This makes this venue the perfect host for the annual LOST 118-Mile Endurance Run.The 118 mile race is a circumnavigation of Lake Okeechobee using the Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail (LOST), a mostly paved and completely level pathway that encircles the lake and runs along the top of the Herbert Hoover Dike, the earthen wall that keeps the lake within its nominal boundaries.

The LOST 118-Mile Endurance Run is a one-loop circumnavigation of Lake Okeechobee, the second-largest freshwater lake in the United States. The Start/Finish line will be at Roland Martin’s Resort and Marina in Clewiston, Florida. The race will travel clockwise around the lake, proceeding from Clewiston north to Moore Haven, then around to Lakeport, Okeechobee, Port Mayaca, Pahokee, and then back to Clewiston. All but one 35-mile section of the course is wide, flat, baby-butt-smooth pavement, and the 35-mile stretch between Moore Haven and Okeechobee is a mix of rough coral-rock two-track road and grassy two-track trail.

You must be registered by February 1st 2021 to be guaranteed your shirt size and swag bag! After that we will try to guess your shirt size, but we're not really good at guessing. Additional shirts ( for your crew ) may be ordered in the store, and will be in your swag bag at packet pick-up

Unmanned aid stations will consist of a cooler stocked with food, drinks, ice and limited race supplies, along with 2-3 gallons of water at each location. At least seven aid stations will be manned aid stations, with personnel available to help, as well as a wider selection of food, drink, and race supplies.

The historic Clewiston Inn has reserved a block of four rooms for race participants at a discounted rate. Lodging is also available at: The Holiday Inn Express, The Executive Royal motel, Roland Martin’s Resort and Marina and The Best Western motel.

Every runner who finishes the race will receive a Finisher’s Medal, and all Entrants receive a commemorative LOST 118 Shirt.
