La Classique

Winding down the magnificent Mauricie region, the St. Maurice River has been the theater of the Classique internationale de canots since 1934. During 4 days of cultural and sporting activities, over 70,000 visitors come to watch the athletes take on this legendary river, in a 200 km race, with 3 legs from La Tuque to Trois-Rivières. Recently, the Classique is proud to have opened its doors to new competitions, such as Paddle Board and Outrigger.

The fifth annual Special Report on Paddlesports shows that paddlesports are on the rise, again setting a record for the number of participants. In 2014, 21.7 million Americans — 7.4 percent of the population — enjoyed paddling.
