Midsomer Triathlon (Sprint)

Welcome to the Midsomer Triathlon 2019, the Event is held at Midsomer Sports Centre, Midsomer Norton near Bath. BA3 2SY, formerly known as South Wansdyke Sports Centre. The venue is family friendly with a great skate park and playground, cafe and terrace. The Race Distance is 400m Swim, 21K Bike, 5.5K Run. The Triathlon is run under British Triathlon Federation rules and Race Permit. It is organised by Midsomer Tri, a group of local Triathletes wanting to bring a Triathlon to the area following in the footsteps of the much loved old Wansdyke Triathlon. We positively encourage all abilities and age groups to take part and we regularly have competitors aged over 70 racing.First timers are very welcome and we're available to answer any questions to help prepare for the race. It's also a challenging course suitable for competitive Triathletes.The swim is organised in lanes and waves so that similar abilities swim together based on the estimated time you give us when you enter, this can be easily amended at any time up to a week before the Triathlon.The Cycle and Run courses are very well signposted and marshalled at every turn to avoid misdirection. The Cycle is on rural main roads in the foothills of the Mendips and is undulating.The run is 2 laps on tarmac cycle path and off-road paths.
