Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon

Welcome to the annaul Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon, a Coastal Running Fest, showcasing the local culture with a beautiful beachside run from Pass Christian to Biloxi. Kick off the weekend with a health and fitness expo, then run the Double Down with a 5K  and a full/half marathon before relaxing to enjoy incredible seafood and barbecue at a beach party, the Finish Fest. The Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon and Half Marathon are point-to-point races. This means the start lines and finish line are in different locations. The marathon start line is 26 miles from the finish line and the half marathon is 13 miles from the finish line. The following plan is designed to make getting to and from the race venues as easy as we can make it for our participants.

MarathonThe Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon course features a fast, flat, BQ-friendly path along the coast from Pass Christian to Biloxi. Runners are entertained by supporters and spectators while viewing breathtaking beaches historic homes, local restaurants and luxury casino resorts.Half MarathonJoin us on the coast for the fastest growing race distance in the country, the half marathon. While The Mississippi Gulf Coast Half Marathon may only be half of the full, it’s all of “awesome” that makes the route special.Runners still get 13.1 miles of unobstructed views of the beach while running on Hwy 90.

The Mississippi Gulf Coast Convention Center has ample parking.

We will have a “morning clothes” drop point at both start lines. We will transfer your gear back to the finish area for you. Please make sure your gear is secured in a bag and marked CLEARLY with your bib number. Details will be defined closer to the race date.

In addition to finisher medals awarded for each finisher in each race, there will be specific age group awards for all races.

We will be using disposable chips that are part of your bib. Per USA Track & Field rules, your official time is from the starting mats until you cross the finish timing mats. Chip time or net time is provided as a service to you, and is accepted by many races, including the Boston Marathon, as a qualifying time.

City permits limit the race time to a 7 hour time limit. The course will be closed at a 16.01 minute per mile pace. No race services including medical, aid stations or traffic control are available beyond this pace. The finish line remains open until 2:15 p.m. (assuming an 7:00 a.m. start). Participants must cross the finish line by 2:15 p.m. in order to be considered “official finishers”. After 2:15 p.m., the course and finish line are closed. Medals will not be awarded after 2:15 p.m. NO EXCEPTIONS.
