North Carolina - Halloween Half Marathon

The concept for the Halloween Half Marathon was born in early 2009 in Miami Beach. We were looking for a unique “hook” to add into a traditional running event. We figured there were plenty of running events out there so we wanted to create a unique experience for the runners.We thought of Halloween! Even as adults, when the calendar turns the page to October, Halloween comes to mind. With much success of this event in Miami Beach we decided to bring this amazing event to the great state of North Carolina.The artwork for the event, the medals, and the shirt will incorporate a Halloween character chosen by you the runner. To date we have used bats, vampires, skeletons, zombies, and werewolves.

We are honored to announce that the NC Halloween Half Marathon will be on Cape Fear River Trail. The race will take place at 7:30AM in late October and will start in the Downtown area, run down Ramsey Street merging runners onto the New Cape Fear River Trail extension were you will enjoy 10 of your 13 miles on the scenic beautiful paved trail road.
