What's included
Swim CourseEveryone will be able to get in the water ahead of their swim start wave to warm up if needed. The swim is held in the Oakland Estuary starting at the Jack London Aquatic Center. The current will approximately measure between 0.2 and 0.4 knots of water with an ebb tide flowing toward the SF Bay and making the swim safe for all. This will be one of your fastest swims ever. The tide will be flowing in the direction of the swim course.T1After exiting the water, participants run south on Water St and will cross over the railroad tracks at the Jack London pedestrian crossing. You will climb a series of stairs crossing over the railroad tracks and then down a series of stairs to the other side. This will take you out to 2nd street and your transition on Webster St. The distance between the swim exit and transition is .35 miles and you can bring shoes or sandals down to the swim exit if you wish, the swim exit area will be organized by bib number.Bike CourseThe bike course begins at Webster and 3rd St, heads up 3rd St to Mandela Parkway to 28th St and back down Mandela to 7th St. Heading right on Maritime you will loop around the port area and then back through Jack London Square using Brush and 2nd St. This will be a one loop course for the Sprint. The second loop on the Olympic will start at Franklin St and 3rd.T2The Bike In for transition will be at Webster and 2nd St and Run exit at Webster and Embarcadero. You will exit transition and head toward Oak St from the walkway adjacent to the train tracks.Run CourseOur new run course will be along the new pedestrian trail that now connects fully to Lake Merritt.
