Omaha Marathon

The Omaha Marathon is an annual marathon held in Omaha, Nebraska, United States. Set for its annual running through the streets of a city that’s perhaps most famous as the hometown of famed investor Warren Buffett as well as the home of the NCAA College World Series baseball tournament, the HITS Running Festivals Omaha Marathon, Half Marathon & 10K takes runners on an out-and-back tour of the city. After years of the Omaha Marathon being known as a “hilly course,” and after months of looking, trying, and working with Omaha Police and City Officials, we were thrilled to present the 2013 Omaha Marathon and Omaha Half Marathon courses … both FLAT & FAST!  They also combine scenic views of lakes, rivers, parks, city and urban settings.  After the new courses were a big hit in 2013, we returned with the same courses in 2014 and added a finish inside the TD Ameritrade Stadium. The excitement of finishing in the stadium and on live Jumbotron was amazing. We’re happy to be returning with the same courses again!  The courses are USATF certified, and the Marathon course is an Official Boston Marathon Qualifier.

follows an out-and-back course that starts and finishes at Omaha’s TD Ameritrade Park, the baseball field that serves as the home of the annual NCAA baseball tournament as well as the home field for Creighton University’s Blue Jays baseball team. From there, the course for the half marathon unfolds along a course that’s shaped roughly like a figure-eight, with the first half of the race taking runners through the neighborhoods north of the starting line (with names like Conestoga and Carter Lake). The second half of the race unfolds through the districts south of downtown, including Old Market, Little Italy and Deer Park, and a stretch that brings runners through a section of Heartland of America Park along the river. Other stretches take runners past Omaha landmarks like the Lewis & Clark Landing along the river and the Henry Dourly Zoo.

Substantial parking will be available in parking lots near TD Ameritrade Park. Please be advised that it is $8 to park in these lots.

There will be water stops / aid stations approximately every 1-1.5 miles on the course. We will provide water, Heed and Hammer Gel. Porta-potties will be placed at the Start/Finish areas, 10K Turnaround, Half Marathon Turnaround, Mile 10.25 and the Marathon Turnaround.
