What's included
The route is tweaked as required from our landowner negotiations, you should expect more off-road than on and where we are on roads (or tarmac surfaces), these are predominantly quiet country lanes and cycle-ways which link together superb and varied off-road sections. Feedback from those who complete it say the road sections are a welcome change and allow the body to recover from some of the tougher off road action.
We will have transfer buses for you (and your gear and bike) to get your car positioned at the finish, pre-event, so you can drive away when you reach the finish (there’s an incentive!). OR you can leave your car at the Start and we will bus you back there afterwards.
England can be wet. Even in summer! You should dress on the ride to be self-sufficient for a day in the saddle and we will issue both mandatory and recommended kit lists. You will have access to dry gear from your bag at the overnight locations.Although you will be required to carry some gear at all times that we will insist on. This will fit into a small backpack or hydration bladder bag, a bum bag or a large saddlebag. We will publish a mandatory kit list that must be carried by all participants at all times.
Supporters are welcome at the crossing and can join you at the overnight stops throughout as well as dipping in to see you along the route. Each day has a halfway checkpoint where supporters are welcome to come and cheer you along. plus, they can come and see you cross the finish line each day at shap, northallerton and scarborough.Supporters can join you at both the campsites for £20 per person. We also offer a glamping service and pitch and park, so you can bring your whole clan along. They can set up a tent for you ready for when you roll over the finishline, or we can set one up for you at each camp. Please see the camping and glamping information. There is a huge amount to do and see as your supporters travel through the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors.
