What's included

Course Overview MarathonThe Marathon Course starts on Noosa Parade, Noosa Heads. Participants will head down Noosa Parade before crossing through the Sofitel Bridge and the Munna Point Bridge, experiencing amazing views of Weyba Creek and the Noosa River, from here competitors will take a right hand turn on to Weyba Road and a left hand turn on to Gympye Terrace. Once on Gympie Terrace athletes will follow the edge of the River for about 1.5km before crossing the James Duke Bridge in to Noosaville. Runners will then veer right in to Hilton Terrace before turning right in to Hilton Esplanade and follow this road for about 300m before reaching the western turnaround. From here runners will follow the same course back towards Noosa Heads reaching the eastern turn of the course, located in front of the Festival Village at the Noosa Lions Park. Runners will cover 4 laps of this course before entering the finish line stretch on Noosa Parade.Course Overview Marathon Relay2 Person Relay TeamThe full marathon is a 4 lap course, and each team relay member will complete two laps each (consecutive laps) of the course equalling 21.1km (10.55km per lap).Individual and Relay Marathon runners begin at the same time. Team Relay Runner 1 will run the first two laps of the four lap marathon course; and then hand over the wristband to Runner 2 in the relay exchange area. Team Relay Runner 2 will then complete laps three and four of the marathon course.Runner 1 can wait in the relay exchange area for Runner 2 so that team members may re-join to cross the finish line together at the completion of lap 4.4 Person Relay TeamThe full marathon is a 4 lap course, and each team relay member will run one lap each of the course equalling 10.55km per lap.Individual and Relay Marathon runners begin at the same time. Team Relay Runner 1 will complete the first lap of the four lap marathon course; and then hand over the wristband to Runner 2 in the relay exchange area. Team Relay Runner 2 will then complete lap two of the marathon course; and then hand over the wristband to Runner 3. The same procedure will take place for Runners 3 and 4. Relay teams will select who runs in which order, as long as all relay team members complete one lap each.Runners 1, 2, and 3 can wait in the exchange area for Runner 4 so that team members may re-join to cross the finish line together at the completion of lap 4.Course Overview 31.6kmThe 31.6km Course starts on Noosa Parade, Noosa Heads. To ensure your support crew, family and friends can see you out there on the event course and cheer you on, we've identified a number of great spectator viewing locations. Please view the course map and familiarise yourself with the best way to get around the course as a spectator and the access points for spectators. There will be a number of road closures in the Noosa Region on event day. The event organiser will publish a road closure map closer to event day so you can familiarise yourself with these closures and plan your day and driving routes accordingly.

Relay Team InfoThe Team Relay is designed for people who want to do the full marathon with a mate. All relay team members will have a unique bib number and timing chip so no chip or number exchange will be required. However, the relay wrist band exchange must take place in the designated relay exchange area to be considered a valid exchange.Relay teams will select who runs in which order, as long as both relay team members complete their consecutive laps each. Relay Teams may be all male, all female or mixed.Seeded StartsIn order to ensure a smooth start for all runners, seeded start zones will be in place at the start line of each event. Entrants are asked to assemble in the appropriate zone depending on their expected finish time. All walkers and those with prams must start at the back of the pack to ensure runners are not hindered. Please look for the expected finish time signage marked in the start area. TimingTiming mats will be located at all start lines and at the finish line. Additionally, all runners will receive a split time at various points throughout the course. These will be updated with precise locations closer to the event date.Disposable timing chips are attached to the back of your race number and will record your time. Timing chips do not need to be returned.All timing results will be available online by age group category and will be based on participant's mat time.We will also have an Event Mobile App that will include an athlete tracker so you can follow your friends results on the day.Bag DropThere will be a bag drop service for all runners, located at the Lions Park Festival Village.Please collect your bag by 1:00pm Saturday 25 May 2019 before you leave the Festival Village. Any remaining gear will be held at the event office in Noosaville.All bags must be accompanied by the race number gear tag available at the Bag Drop. Please ensure your race bag has the gear tag attached before you drop it off at the designated bag drop area. Any gear left at the start lines or discarded and left at any point on the course will be collected and donated to Charity. You must NOT drop any gear at aid stations or anywhere on the course for later retrieval.Aid StationsEach distance event will be well supported with Aid stations located across the course for all distances, approximately every 2.5km.Aid stations will provide water, isotonic sports drink, toilet facilities and first aid. Please refer to course maps for aid station locations.Finish AreaThe finish area will offer the full post-race experience; where you can relax, immerse in to the atmosphere, appreciate a well-earned massage, refuel, and enjoy celebrating your achievement with friends and family.Make a day of it enjoying the local flavours of Noosa with plenty of delicious restaurants and cafes, or enjoy a refreshing dip and soak up the sun at Noosa Main Beach.Prize GivingAll prizes are awarded at prize giving which will take place at 10:30am for the 31.6km, Half Marathon, 10km and 5km. Marathon and Marathon Team Relay prize giving will take place at 11.30am.Finisher rewardsEveryone participating in Runaway Noosa in any/all distance will receive a Finisher's Medal.All Finisher’s results are available online after the event.
