Overview
DescriptionAre you ready to run the 2nd Annual Salt City Half Marathon in beautiful downtown Hutchinson? The Run For the Rocks Salt City Half-Marathon has been a regional favorite over the years, but this past year we decided to give it a fresh look. We dropped the Run for the Rocks title from the name to bring you the Salt City Half-Marathon. We also adjusted the date and route. We went back to our roots utilizing the historic Hyde Park District during our final stages and bringing a new exciting start down our Main Street during the Rod Run and Classic Car show. The race will still be held in the gorgeous autumn season, with this years date of Saturday, October 5th, 2019. We feature a fast and flat certified course as well as professional chip timing.Participants will receive quality tech-shirts, and all those who cross the finish line will receive finisher medals, as well as complimentary food, drink, and massage/chiropractic services from area businesses.Proceeds from this event go to Hutchinson Recreation Commission and the Boys and Girls Club of Hutchinson as both organizations work to provide quality-of-life services for the youth in our community. Same day packet pick-up and onsite registration will be in the parking lot next to DCI park in downtown Hutchinson.Participants begin their 13.1 journey at 7:30 a.m. in Downtown Hutchinson between 2nd and 3rd street adjacent to DCI Park. For those walking the entire distance, you have the option of beginning at 7 a.m. The actual starting line is adjacent to the registration site. The starting line and finish line are adjacent to one another so shuttling service will not be necessary. You'll have downtown parking available to you along 3rd street, 2nd street, DCI Parking lot, Washington Street parking lot as well as 1st national parking garage.
