Salty Sea Dog Triathlons – July
Overview
The super successful Saturday morning beach triathlons on Boscombe seafront. Now a series of races over the summer season. Sprint and super sprint distances. Perfect for novices looking for their first race and great for athletes wanting to keep sharp mid-season! The Salty Sea Dog triathlons will take place outside the Urban Reef a funky and informal bar, caf, deli, and restaurant, serving fresh, seasonal and local food and drink. Entry Limit The races are strictly limited to just 200 entrants per race, Distances Sprint, and Super Sprint. Why not also join us in the afternoon for the new Salty Sea Swim Series!
Course details
Course:The event takes place on the main promenade with the sea swim just to the left of the 'Surf Reef'. Swimmers can expect a couple of waves but nothing too worrying! Swim:It is a 375m swim lap that is done once for the super sprint (375m) and twice for the sprint (750m) Bike:The transition area is in front of the shower / toilet block with a 150 meter bike out on to the Boscombe beach roundabout, It’s then a short but steep climb out and onto the over cliff coast road to the turn point at Hengistbury Head for the super sprint it is 1 lap (11.7km) and for the sprint it is 2 laps (23.4km). Run:The run is as flat as a pancake and is a simple out and back along the seafront promenade again it is 1 lap (2.5km) for the Super Sprint and 2 Laps (5km) for the Sprint.

The nearest car parks to the venue are located approximately 150 yards from the event registration, just off Sea Road. Please see the map above. These are pay and display car parks. Please do not park on ‘The Marina’ road as this is part of the bike course will make for an interesting descent.
Boscombe Beach is an excellent location to relax at whilst your athlete is racing around. The Cafe will be open serving hot food and drinks.
