Course details
Clear sky greeted the largest field at this year's Half Marathon. It was fantastic to have multiple teams from Ceres Farms, Kununurra Police and Clontarf (Kununurra and Halls Creek). A great effort for all those runners tackling a half marathon for the first time. Also fantastic for a large group of runners from Darwin and Broome to be at this year's event - well-done to you all. Action started at 7am sharp and the pace was on from the start. It was Halls Creek long distance runner, Michael Douglas (57 years young) showing the younger runners a clean set of heals, winning in 1:28:22.
What's included
The battle for female solo line honors came down to the last 500m with Katie Cartwright (Broome) using her experience to pass local Jessica Sunderland to win by 22 seconds. Jessica, at 17 years of age, has many more half marathons yet to run. First team home was "Team Turtle" in 1:31:10 and first duo was from the Kununurra Police in 1:41:00. Provisional results below, with full results (including splits) to be posted early this week. Congratulations to all our 2018 runners!
