Overview
20k route – Mainly trails with some roadsThis route would be best described as tough and most of the difficult terrain is found within the first 9km. The road portion of the route will be fairly quiet on a Sunday morning, but care should take on approach to Queen Elizabeth country park where running will be close to the A3 – please be aware of cars, tractors, walkers, cyclists, and horses at all times.
Course details
This is a new race and route for 2018, the event is open to anyone over the age of 17 yrs old – this route is a favorite with Clanfield Joggers and will be a challenge for all runners incorporating several climbs before the most challenging long climb up the furthest path to Butler Hill.This is an inclusive 20km trail run which offers fantastic scenery from one of the highest points in Hampshire and along the South Downs with views to the north and East Meon. The course will follow off-road footpaths and bridal ways and metalled roads with limited Tarmac road sections. Each competitor will receive a finisher’s medal and T-Shirt at the finish line.

Parking:Ample free parking will be available on the day at South Lane-Meadow, Clanfield Memorial Hall, and the surrounding roads.If you are running with friends or loved ones, we ask that you share cars where possible to avoid any congestion or disruptions to the local community on the morning of the race.
Safety :Headsets/Headphones will not be allowed on any of the race routes.Please look after one another and report an incident to a marshall as soon as you become aware of any accident or injury.Medical Assistance:First Aid posts are situated at the start/finish area.If you experience difficulty – stop running and seek out the nearest marshal and request help. A vehicle will be available to pick up entrants who are unable to complete the course and will return them to the start/finish area. If you do drop out it is important you assist us by reporting your name and race number to one of our marshals.If you have any medical conditions that you are aware of please inform us before the race and write you condition down on the back of your race number.
12k route – Mainly trails with some roadsThis route would be best described as challenging for beginners but most of the difficult terrain is found within the first 4-5km. There are fantastic views of the South Downs about 3km in with views of East Meon. The road portion of the route will be fairly quiet on a Sunday morning, but please be aware of cars, tractors, walkers, cyclists, and horses.
The 12-kilometer route will begin on North Lane in steadily climbing up onto the South Downs Way, towards the old HMS Mercury site, looping round towards North Wood and back into Clanfield for a finish with friends and family on the Meadow.The route is made up mainly of off-road trails but a small number of road routes with roughly 120 meters of elevation gain over the first 3 kilometers alone. Where running traffic will be at its greatest, roads will be closed to ensure the safety of all. Marshalls will be available throughout the route to provide any assistance where required.

5k route – Road and trailThis 5k route is a great starter for beginners or those looking for a shorter sprint. There are great parts to this route as it veers through country tracks and shows views of Windmill Hill. The road portion of the route will be fairly quiet on a Sunday morning, but please be aware of cars, tractors, walkers, cyclists, and horses.
The 5-kilometer route will begin on North Lane in Clanfield, steadily climbing up towards the South Downs Way, but leaving the 12k route to enjoy the paths east. From here the views of Windmill Hill running back into Clanfield will keep you motivated.The route is made up of about 50% road and 50% trail terrain with roughly 60 meters of elevation gain over the first 2.5 kilometers alone. Where running traffic will be at its greatest, roads will be closed to ensure the safety of all. Marshalls will be available throughout the route to provide any assistance where required.
