Umemaran is Sweden's second oldest marathon and was started in the in the 1970s by local running enthusiasts. The team now organize both a full and a half marathon. Both the 42.2 km and 21.1 km are control measured. The route is famous for being fast and the race is famous for its friendly atmosphere. Also the city is worth a visits. Umeå one of the largest cities in Sweden and is a coastal university town. Here you find two universities and more than 39,000 students. The city was elected as the European Capital of Culture of 2014.

What's included
The race is split in two turns. Start and finish are placed at Tegs Central School on the south side of the Ume River (1.5 km from central Umeå). Starting in Teg via Domarevägen - Bryggargatan - Bölevägen direction Böleäng. Left turn onto Kråkbärsvägen- right turn to Tranbärsvägen and Enbärsvägen. Left turn and return to the bike path. Then turn left with the direction Röbäck. The return journey goes directly to Röbäck, then round Umåkers racetrack and then straight past the Volvo Umeverken and Bölevägen to Bryggargatan. After about 200 meters, turn directly to the shipyard no / target Teg Central School.
