High Water Run Race

Overview
The race runs 13 km from Sesekinika to Kenogami Lake on the winding Blanche River. The river has good depth and there are two small portages, no whitewater. This is a recreational class race, suitable for all skill levels. The race gives a taste of a small part of what the voyagers and early explorers experienced when they used this same route to reach Arctic Watershed in order to access Hudson’s Bay.
Course details
Over the years the race has had its legends with old timers that won year after year, as well as legends of people spilling their canoes while racing to the finish, or losing their hard won lead by taking a wrong turn. Organizers describe the race route as family friendly and often more of a marathon than a race. Any proceeds, after expenses, go to supporting the Sesekinika Volunteer fire brigade through the local services board, which is a registered Not-for-profit organization.
