Why Not Run

Overview
This is a 6 hour timed multi-lap event. Each lap being approximately 3.8 miles. The trail is a mixture or road and trail paths. 4 laps for a half marathon, 7 for a marathon, and 9 for an Ultra. Set in the stunning scenery of Stansted House with the kind permission of the Estate and Events team at Stansted House, and the landowners surrounding the estate.At the end of each lap our aid station will be stocked with all the goodies runners like: water, squash, jelly babies, Haribo, crisps and cakes. All the things required to help set you off for another lap or two, or if you prefer you can ring the bell to officially finish your run and collect your medal.
Course details
Snacks, goodies and fun will be provided.Children can enter the event but are restricted to certain distances, depending on age.The event is held under UKA Rules and Regulations (Rule 141 UKA Trail Running) who govern the maximum distance children can run in athletic events. The conditions are:They must be accompanied by an adult at all times.They must not run further than the following distancesUnder 12 years – 3,000 metresUnder 14 years – 5,000 metresUnder 16 years – 6,000 metresUnder 17 years – 10,000 metresUnder 18 years – 25,000 metresUnder 20 years – 45,000 metres
What's included
The course is a mixture of road and trail paths, so shoes will be very much subject to the weather leading up to the event.The route will take you from the field at the front of the house up the road, and round, before turning right onto a trail path, and then left to Racton Ruin, which will be the turn point on this out and back route.

Car parking will be in the field at Stansted House where we will be basing ourselves for the event.

Can I run with my dog?Sorry dogs are not allowed to run with you in the event. Our events are insured via UK Athletics, who recently banned dogs running with entrants.Can I leave my own food & drink at the aid station?Yes of course you can. Some runners like to have their own special sports drinks and energy gels or bars during events and these can be left at the aid station. We recommend you place them in a container clearly labelled with your name and we are not able to take responsibility for left items.All race numbers will be collected on the day and race information will be issued to the email address you registered with and will also be available on our website.Please arrive in good time, and there will be a full briefing at 9.20 before the race starting at 9.30.Please bring your registration email with you, so that we can check you in quickly for the event.As this is a timed event in the middle of summer (All be it the British Summer), please dress appropriately, and for eventualities.
